Context

Ekovus is the artist identity and the wider world. Music in that system needs a place that behaves like a broadcast. A release page and a portfolio embed do a different job. lowlight-fm is the broadcast entity: stations to browse, mixes to play, curator credit to Ekovus, and an address of its own at lowlight-fm.com.

Intent

Give the Ekovus world a public listening surface people can enter through sound. Keep joshlewis.pro explanatory. Leave open world material unresolved.

Constraints

  • Listening stays on lowlight-fm.com. This site does not embed the player.
  • The station sits inside the Ekovus world. It is not a second artist brand.
  • Open creative premises stay open.
  • The radio is creative broadcast work, not a product platform.

Approach

Ship a dedicated broadcast site with a station list, transport controls, and SoundCloud-backed playback for DJ mixes and related channels. Credit Ekovus as curator. Use this portfolio page to explain the relationship and send people to the station for listening.

Key decisions

Give lowlight-fm its own domain

A broadcast entity needs an address that can stand alone. Keeping transmission only inside the artist site would make the radio feel secondary.

Alternatives considered: Host the station only under ekovus.com; Point at SoundCloud alone without a station surface

Keep playback off joshlewis.pro

This site explains the project. The station carries listening and immersion.

Alternatives considered: Embed the player here; Duplicate the station UI inside the portfolio

Keep lowlight-fm nested under the Ekovus world

Separating artist, broadcast, and transmission mechanism keeps the system legible without inventing a second music identity.

Alternatives considered: Present lowlight-fm as an independent brand; Collapse everything into a single Ekovus page with no named broadcast entity

Result

A live station at lowlight-fm.com. Visitors can open stations, play mixes curated by Ekovus, and meet the broadcast layer of that world.

What changed

  • Separating the artist world from the broadcast surface makes each job clearer.
  • A working station can carry the world through sound without forcing unfinished lore into canon.

In the Ekovus world

Ekovus remains the artist and the wider environment. lowlight-fm is the broadcast surface. Carrier names the transmission process. Deeper premises stay open.

The full creative frame for that system is on the Ekovus project page. Listening is at lowlight-fm.com.
