Context

Music has never felt separate from artwork, typography, sequencing, interfaces, titles, release formats, and visual scenes. Ekovus began as a way to develop those pieces together. The music stays central. The wider environment is part of how the music is encountered. This is one creative project among several over time, not the whole creative identity.

Intent

Keep semblance, propulsive, and otherworldly qualities coherent across music and the surrounding system without turning exploratory premises into settled canon.

Constraints

  • Listening and immersion stay off this site: ekovus.com for the artist world, lowlight-fm.com for broadcast. Do not embed either here.
  • AI can help with prototyping, writing, coding, organization, and scenes. It is not the creative author.
  • Open creative material stays unresolved instead of getting cleaned up for clarity.

Approach

Develop music, visual language, naming, and broadcast concepts as one system. Keep public pieces public and leave prototypes, internal documents, and unresolved material marked as such. Use AI for reach across surrounding disciplines while keeping taste, selection, rejection, and final judgment human.

Key decisions

Link out to ekovus.com instead of embedding players

This site explains the project. The Ekovus site carries listening and immersion.

Alternatives considered: Embed players here; Duplicate the Ekovus site inside the portfolio

Leave the deeper forgotten-program premise unresolved

Useful uncertainty is part of the work. Resolving it only to tidy a write-up would invent canon.

Alternatives considered: Write a closed lore document for clarity; Hide the premise entirely

Result

Public music and site work continue alongside prototypes, world rules, naming systems, and broadcast concepts that are not all released. Canonical entities include Ekovus, lowlight-fm, and Carrier. The public broadcast surface lives at lowlight-fm.com.

What changed

  • AI helps more of the intended world become concrete without a full team. Collaborators are not obsolete.
  • Visual language works when technology feels limited, used, and human-operated instead of generic cyberpunk.
  • Audience roles like receivers, collectors, and witnesses should stay descriptive, not hierarchical.

Current state

Some material is public. Other pieces remain prototypes, internal documents, or open creative questions. The project should feel like it was already transmitting before anyone arrived.

The named broadcast entity is lowlight-fm. Listening for that layer is at lowlight-fm.com.
